The camp looks great thanks to the efforts of a huge number of volunteers and the generous support of a multitude of benefactors, both Lions Clubs and Philanthropic Organisations.
Our outdoor equipment lost in the floods has been replaced and installed.
New activities include a giant swing and a Liberty Swing for people with disabilities and giant games including chess, checkers and snakes and ladders, two outdoors hookey boards, handball targets and two games of Connect 4 have been added.
Underground power has been completed and the bore is in operation, ensuring supplies of potable water well into the future.
Some of the houses and general buildings have been painted, and we would like to have all of the houses receiving a lick of paint to freshen up the entire village during the quieter months.
Plans are proceeding well with regard to river management.
We will also be considering sealing the roads within the village this year.
Tradies needed We'd like to compile a "Tradies Directory" for Licola from our Lions out there with the right qualifications. Contact Graham Birrell if you are interested.
We won't expect you to work for nothing. We will need tradies and handymen of all kinds though, who are prepared to come up to lend a hand as we move forward.
Licola will have an exciting future with your help.
If you're interested in being part of the Tradies Directory, or you've got contacts who might help us source materials, drop us a note, contact CEO Ken Hunter ASAP on 0418 338 300 or email kenhunter@licola.org.au
